Park Grove was established in July 1985 and has been under the ownership of Kevin & Una Banks since March 1997 who have over 30 years of experience of working in the care sector. Park Grove is committed to maintaining and improving the quality of our service. In January 2006 we were awarded The Investors in people award who carry out an independent assessment of care quality which is developed in partnership with local authorities. We have a comprehensive quality policies and procedures manual, which is constantly under review and revision. A summary of our most recent inspection report is available at CQC online.

     

The home is registered for 32 residents. The homes rooms are on the ground floor and first floor (which is serviced by a lift). There are ample number of bathrooms, including a wet room  and an easy walk in medi bath. All have grab rails or frames to facilitate ease of use, and are large enough for access for wheelchairs and zimmer frames. There is ample parking to the rear of the home with three ramps, from the side and rear entrance to allow easy access. The home has spacious gardens and a large patio area with tables and chairs for us in the summer.

     

A Nurse call facility is in every room and can only be turned off at point of call. There are two dining rooms and four lounges with TV (SKy TV in two lounges). The use of a hands free phone is also available. A touch screen computer is accessible to all residents which can be used in any room within the home, enabling them to keep in-touch with their families and other contacts via Skype, facebook or email. Free Wifi is available. Password available at the office upon request.

 

We are on the main road Liverpool/Preston (A59) approximately 3 miles from Ormskirk and 8 miles from Southport and close to the Liverpool/Leeds canal. We are with 5 minutes walk of the village shops, post office, bank and Library. There are local railway station services - Manchester, Southport, Preston and Liverpool lines and there is also a good bus service, which stops outside the home to Liverpool, Preston and Blackpool.

   

 Residents enjoys activities arranged within the home. A programme of events can be found on the notice board by the kitchen and residents are encouraged to participate. Indoor and outdoor activities are available at the local sports centre and parks. A cricket ground, football club and putting green are all in local proximity to the home. Memberships are available for local OAP clubs and Institutes all of which have bingo games weekly and spring, summer and Christmas Fayre's. On the outskirts of Burscough we have old Rufford Hall, Martin Mere, Parbold Hill ( a local beauty spot) and Ormskirk Market. The C of E, Methodist and Roman Catholic churches are all nearby, and frequent the home on a regular basis for those wishing to join in communion.

 

You are most welcome to bring any personal belongings to the home. Smaller items such as a special chair, radio, TV, ornaments, shelving, pictures etc can be brought in and if you would like your room decor to change then this will be done. If you would like to bring in larger items e.g bed, dressing table or wardrobe, we will do everything we can to accommodate you and personalise your environment.
